The team of researchers proposes a unique concept in an upcoming publication of the journal MNRAS Letters. They reported that over billions of years the pieces of debris would have clumped together to form a planet-sized object. According to the researchers, it went into the Oort cloud. Planet trapped in the Oort cloud?

Scientists hold another interesting possibility. According to them, like our solar system, it could be a planet of another star system, which would have been trapped in the Oort cloud. Researchers consider it more likely.

Questions raised on theory

Although scientists believe that both these theories are not highly probable. According to their estimate, there is only a 0.5 percent chance that the Sun would have pushed a planet into the Oort cloud. There is a seven per cent chance that a Neptune-sized planet would have been ejected from its parent star and captured by the Sun. NASA has already said that it is not running any mission related to the Oort cloud. Although Voyager spacecraft can reach there in 300 years. It would take 30,000 years for them to escape from the Oort cloud.
